There has been a considerable amount of water under the bridge since my last post. I has occurred to me that I should figure out exactly how much water is flowing beneath the bridge. I am missing posts for 2 days. That's a lot of water. Given the flow rate and a cross section of the river, it should be possible to get a reasonable estimate of how many tons per day pass beneath the bridge. This morning the temperature dropped to -40C. The mist above the river floats gently upward making the river look like a large hot tub. Kelly, my cool co-worker stopped to capture images this morning. The ice bridge is beginning to come together in spots but rest assured there will be no leisurely strolls out onto the river ice. There is a noticeable bite in the air this morning and people are talking about the groans a protests from their vehicles as they are subjected to cold starts. My grand fortune is that I am close enough to the workplace that I can simply dress up and enjoy the winter air as I stroll back and forth to work.
